LGBTQ is always considered as a “big deal” apparently in nepal. A country who is still fighting for “inter caste” marriage can be even worse(not always) when it comes to LGBTQ people. In the spirit of pride month, lets see some of the things only nepalese LGBTQ people will understand
1 "I thought you were normal"
Do we have to dress or behave a certain way just so we can prove that we are gay or lesbian? And what is normal anyway? Normal is a myth people.
2 "Manche haru le k bhancha?"
Ans: Manche haru le u pani hami jasto manche ho bhancha.
Simple as that!
3 "Its just a phase"
Its not like your period which comes for 7 days in a month and goes away. Why don't you guys get it?
4 "Is it even legal?"
Since when do I have to be scared for my identity to be legal?
5 "That is soo gay"
Even though you feel like you are just saying it for fun, it might hurt a lot of people.
6 "Malai timi haru jasto manche sanga darr lagcha"
Well, they aren't monsters you see but you are no less to have a thought like that.
7 "How are you going to have babies?"
First of all, that's none of your business.
Second of all, have you heard of the word "Adoption"?
No matter what people say #Lovewins and we are so proud to have such brave LGBTQ community in Nepal. It really shows that we are growing.
Do tell in the coments what other things you are tired of hearing and do not forget to SHARE it with your friends and family and make them aware that LGBTQ people are just as human as us.
