Community service is one of the things that remind the boys in the tribe that we are part of a greater community.  We talked about the word Charity with our boys.  Then we did a little work sorting out food for the One Voice program at the big hanger at Santa Monica Airport.

 event on Thursday December 18th 2003.

We Chumash Gathered early to let the kids have some hot drinks and get to know each other better.  Then we drove over in a caravan of Chumash cars. Click on Image to view a larger Photo, then use your Back button to return. We arrived in the Parking lot and grouped together for a shot. Five Father & Son pairs out of Seven.  Good participation.   After we entered we were met by Deirdra Martinez our YMCA representative who leads us with our Y.  She gave us out patches and even snapped this great photo of us. This is just before we found a good table for sorting to help out.   Other Westside Tribes were there like these Cherokee   Here Sitting Bull and Running Fox are sorting oranges   Another Westside YMCA Tribe.   Here are the Nations Chiefs of two local YMCA Y-Guides programs Westchester's Nation Chief in the photo is Jim "Moonwalker" Quaschnick and our Westside YMCA Nation Chief Paho greet and shake hands.   A Westchester Y-Guides tribe near us worked hard. This group is from two tribes.  The "Yakima" and  the "Kama'aina"   Another Westside Y-Guides Tribe help to stack packaged up Apples Sam on the Right is the Federation Web Spinner for www.YGYP.com   It is a big Hanger.  With lots of fun activity and rocking music making it easy to stay in motion.  Here it is near the end and some are just dancing for fun.
